BFS Current Story
9-14-2008 - The Oregon State Football Team was finally home and playing in front of us and they did not dissappoint. The Beavers came out a little flat and Hawaii took the ball on their first possession of the game and went right down the field and scored. After that it was all Beavers as 5 different Beavers (J. Rodgers, Q. Rodgers, Stroughter, Morales, Moevao) scored touchdowns in a 45-7 route of Hawaii. The biggest concern to come out of the game was the field goal kicking Justin Kahut as he was 0-3 on field goals and was hooking the ball badly on both field goals and extra points before being pulled for the reminder of the game. Sean Sehnem, a JC transfer from Western New Mexico came in and went 1-1 in field goals and freshman Matt Barker did kick off duties. It was my first home game with my new camera and I was trying to put it to good use. Got some great shots including this one of Linebacker Dennis Christopher #1 blowin up Hawaii running back Jayson Rego #22 on a Sammy Stroughter punt return at the south end of the field. If you were at the game you will remember it. This was the most dominate performance the Beavers have put on another team in recent memory. After Hawaii's first posession they could not move the ball at all. Hawaii's opening drive was 6 plays, 73 yards. After that they only had another 138 yards for the game. The Beavers had three interceptions for the game which were their first interceptions of the season. Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 112 yards on 26 carries, his first 100 yard game as a Beaver. Last week at Penn State Rodgers rushed for 99 yards just missing the 100 yard mark. BY THE NUMBERS
The Beavers have next weekend off and then #1 Ranked USC comes to Corvallis for a Thursday night game on national TV. The last time the Trojans came to Corvallis the Beavers pulled off the upset. Let's hope they can do it again. I will be posting a few more photos from the Hawaii game this week, so check back. GO BEAVERS! BFS |
