3-12-2008 - Oregon State University sports history has many proud and exciting moments. But with the 2007-2008 Men's Basketball season about to come to an end, Oregon State may always be remembered for two things.
- An NCAA record 28 consecutive losing seasons in football. From 1970 to 1998 the Beavers managed compile a record of 65-238-6. During that stretch they had two 14-game losing streaks, separated only by a 31-28 come-from-behind win over Fresno State in 1981, at the time the greatest comeback in NCAA history. The Beavers where 0-11 in 1980. Also during the streak, Oregon State had two 15-game losing streaks under Jerry Pettibone in the 1990s. The Beaver football team went from the 1964 Rose to the 1999 Oahu Bowl without making another bowl appearance. That's 35 years between bowl games.
- The Current Men's Basketball Program. A school record 20 straight losses. First team in PAC-10 history to go 0-18 in conference play. Just 2 losses away from the PAC-10 record of 22 consecutive losses by the 1921-1922 Oregon Ducks. Since the 1989-1990 season the Beavers have had only one winning season.
