Beavers Men's Basketball Starts Conference Play on the Road

1/3/2007

The PAC-10 conference season starts tonight with the Beavers in Arizona and ASU on Saturday. The Beavers are currently last in the conference with a 6-6 record and rank last in 6 of the statistical categories listed below.

The Beavers are going to have to find the desire to win among themselves or this will once again be a season to forget. In fact, there have been so many seasons to forget in the last 17 years I find it easier to remember going to games 30 and 40 years ago then going to games last year.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The Beavers need a new coach. Jay John has had 5 years and has not gotten the job done. He has a solid group of players who just will not play in a manner that will win games and that is the coaches fault. This is not youth summer ball. We are not playing over our heads. We are a PAC-10 conference team with talented young men on the roster who are not getting the job done.

It will be a miracle if the Beavers win a game this weekend. But I will watch just the same and probably turn the game off sometime in the second half when they are shooting 50% from the line 35% from the field and have just gone 7 minutes without scoring.

Good Luck Beavs, you'll need it.

GO BEAVERS!
