2002 Football OSU vs Eastern Kentucky

Beavers Dominate Eastern Kentucky and get more then a win!

The Eastern Kentucky game was fun to listen to and our offence played better then I expected them to. The defense dominated EKU more then I expected. All in all the Beavers pulled the big guns and crushed EKU. The down side was that they made some stupid mistakes (penalties) and got a little lazy in the second half after taking the big lead. However, in looking back on previous years performances against other Division 1-AA teams the Beavers finally got this one right.

Derek Anderson had a great game and showed that he has the tools to play at this level. Steven Jackson showed what a big back can do and Dwight Wright showed that he too can fill the shoes of the great Ken Simonton. Yes the Beavers should have beat up on this team, and they did. Yes it does not show what they can do againest a better team. What it does do is give these young players some confidence going into a long road trip to the east coast. The Beavers did almost everything right in this game and they should be happy with the win. But not for to long. They have to get ready for the Temple Owls next week.
